In a manufacturing plant, a damaged floor is more than a cosmetic problem. A pothole in a forklift aisle can break wheels, spill product, injure a worker or stop an entire line. And every hour of downtime costs money.
For years we’ve done high-performance concrete repair in plants that couldn’t afford to shut down. The client needed a fast, lasting fix; we assessed the situation and chose the best product for their needs. That’s the experience we bring to Constructora Alcaraz today.
The most common industrial floor problems
- Potholes and spalling in forklift aisles and loading areas.
- Broken or chipped joints that jolt wheels and get worse with every pass.
- Chemical-damaged concrete from oils, acids, coolants or cleaning products.
- Cracks from shrinkage, settlement or heavy loads.
- Docks, ramps and edges worn down by daily impact.
- Machine bases that need leveling or anchoring with high-strength grout.
How we work
- On-site assessment. We look at the damage, traffic type, chemicals present, area temperature and how long the area can be out of service.
- The right product. No single material fits every job. We choose the system that meets your strength, cure time and working environment.
- Proper prep. We saw-cut, grind and clean down to sound concrete. A repair over weak concrete fails again.
- Installation on your schedule. Night shifts, weekends, between shifts or during planned shutdowns, working in sections to keep routes open.
- Back in service. With rapid-cure materials, many areas take traffic again within hours.
Materials we use, case by case
- Epoxy mortars: high impact and chemical resistance for potholes and heavy-traffic areas.
- Semi-rigid joint fillers (polyurea or epoxy): protect joint edges from forklift traffic.
- Ultra-fast-cure materials: when the area has to be running again the same day.
- Urethane cement: wet areas, hot washdowns or thermal shock, as in food processing.
- Rapid-set cementitious mortars: deep or high-volume repairs.
- Epoxy and cementitious grouts: leveling and anchoring machinery.
Repair or replace?
You don’t always need to demolish. In many cases, a well-done repair extends the floor’s life for years with a fraction of the downtime. If the damage is extensive, we’ll tell you plainly when to repair, when to coat the whole area with an epoxy floor, and when to replace.
Plan before it fails
Annual shutdowns (such as December or Holy Week) are the best time to fix joints, potholes and cracks before they become a bigger problem. We’ll walk your floor with you and help prioritize the repairs.
